One acre of grass (not lot size) sits at the awkward middle of the robot-mower market: many machines top out under 0.5–0.75 acre, and only a handful of published listings on this site are rated at about 1 acre or above. This page curates those listings and the closest undersize fits. It is directory yard-fit, not a ranked “best 1-acre mower” badge.
Measure the lawn. If you are actually at 0.6 acre, a 0.75–0.87 acre card may be enough. If you are at a messy 1.1 acre with islands and beds, prefer models that publish a lower irregular capacity — or step up.
Size / coverage framing
On this site, coverageAcres is the manufacturer’s recommended work area from the listing (see the publisher README). Marketing labels on the same PDP sometimes claim a higher ceiling. When those conflict, listings already document both — and this hub follows the recommended number for yard-fit.
Rough bands for this page:
| Band | How this hub treats it |
|---|---|
| ~0.75–0.9 acre | Closest undersize / near-miss — OK if your measured grass is under 1.0 and layout is simple |
| ~1.0–1.5 acre | Primary 1-acre fit from the live catalog |
| Above ~1.5 acre | Estate / large systematic — overkill for a true 1.0 acre but listed so you do not undersize upward |
Catalog honesty: Only a few published SKUs hit ≥1.0 acre recommended coverage. The small- and mid-yard shelf is much thicker. If few models fit, that is the market state of this directory as of 18 Sep 2026 — not a reason to invent acreage.
Models at or above ~1 acre (primary fits)
Segway Navimow X430
- Coverage: 1.0 acre recommended (map storage footnote up to ~1.2× on the listing)
- Slope: 84% · Drive: AWD · Nav: RTK + vision · wire-free
- Cut: 17 in dual-disc · Price: $2,499 (sold out 27 Sep 2026)
- Who it’s for (listing): Hilly or uneven lawns up to 1 acre that want wire-free AWD and a wide deck.
- What breaks the deal: Yard over an acre (listing points at X450, which is not a published page on this site); paths narrower than the 24-inch body.
Husqvarna Automower 435 iQ AWD
- Coverage: 1.3 acre systematic / 0.9 acre irregular
- Slope: 70% in-lawn / 50% boundary · Drive: AWD · Nav: EPOS RTK · wire-free
- Price: ~$4,799 street (1 Sep 2026 range on listing)
- Who it’s for (listing): Steep ~1.3-acre systematic lawns (~0.9 if irregular) that need AWD and virtual boundaries.
- What breaks the deal: Irregular layouts over ~0.9 acre; need for hose-wash underside (IPX4); refusing the EPOS reference-station install story.
Husqvarna Automower 440 iQ
- Coverage: 2 acre systematic / 1 acre irregular
- Slope: 45% in-lawn / 15% boundary · Nav: EPOS RTK · wire-free (not AWD)
- Price: ~$4,299 street (30 Aug 2026)
- Who it’s for (listing): Up to 2-acre systematic mowing; about 1 acre if the layout is irregular.
- What breaks the deal: Messy acre-plus when you only looked at the 2-acre headline; steep banks better served by AWD SKUs; hills over 45%.
Segway Navimow X390
- Coverage: 2.5 acres recommended
- Slope: 50% work / 25% boundary · Drive: Rear-wheel drive · Nav: RTK + vision · wire-free
- Price: $4,499 ($4,999 MSRP)
- Who it’s for (listing): Large, relatively open lawns up to 2.5 acres that do not need AWD.
- What breaks the deal: Steep wet hills (RWD); second antenna cost if one base cannot cover; overkill budget if the lawn is a clean 1.0 acre and X430 AWD fits.
Yarbo Lawn Mower Pro
- Coverage: 6 acres max mowing size (also publishes 1.7 acres per day on the listing)
- Slope: 70% · Nav: RTK + vision · wire-free · modular Core + deck
- Price: $5,499
- Who it’s for (listing): Very large wire-free yards toward that 6-acre ceiling.
- What breaks the deal: You wanted a compact one-piece suburban robot; weight (~216 lb) and modular system cost.
Closest fits under 1 acre (near-misses)
Use these when measured grass is under one acre, or when budget/nav preference beats a strict 1.0 label. Do not treat them as guaranteed full-acre machines.
| Listing | Recommended coverage | Slope | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dreame A3 AWD Pro 3500 | 0.87 acre | 80% AWD | Closest LiDAR AWD under 1.0; listing says not the 1.20-acre Pro 5000 |
| Husqvarna Automower 435X AWD | 0.9 acre | 70% | Boundary-wire AWD; wire/stakes not in the box |
| Anthbot Genie 3000 | 0.75 acre recommended | 45% | Variant markets 0.89 acre / up to 3600 m² — same Genie recommended-vs-marketed pattern; $899 cart |
| ECOVACS GOAT A3000 LiDAR PRO | 0.75 acre | 50% (virtual boundary 20%) | LiDAR + edge trimmer; not an acre-class RTK flagship |
Genie pattern (marketed vs recommended): Anthbot Genie listings lock coverageAcres to the recommended mowing area. Genie 3000 = 3000 m² / 3/4 acre recommended while the Shopify variant label still says 0.89 acre. Genie 1000 = 0.25 recommended vs 0.49 marketed. For a measured near-acre, do not treat the marketing label as single-pass capacity — open the listing and size to the recommended figure (or step to X430 / Husqvarna acre-class cards).
What usually breaks a 1-acre deal
- Sizing to marketing acres, not recommended acres (Genie 3000 / 1000 pattern above).
- Ignoring Husqvarna irregular capacity — 440 iQ’s 2-acre systematic headline becomes 1 acre irregular; 435 iQ AWD’s 1.3 becomes 0.9.
- Slope vs coverage mismatch — LUBA 3 AWD 1500 has 80% slope but only 0.37 acre; it is not a 1-acre hill machine in this catalog.
- Passage width / body width — X430’s 24-inch body is an explicit listing limit.
- Wire appetite — 435X AWD can cover ~0.9 acre on hills but requires physical wire; acre-class iQ / Navimow / Yarbo stay wire-free at higher price.
- Unpublished larger siblings — Listings mention Pro 5000, X450, larger LUBA SKUs as not this page. This directory only links published slugs. Do not assume those siblings are for sale here until they have listings.
Thin catalog above 1 acre — what to do
As of 18 Sep 2026, published ≥1.0 acre recommended cards are essentially:
- Navimow X430 (1.0)
- Automower 435 iQ AWD (1.3 systematic)
- Automower 440 iQ (2.0 systematic / 1.0 irregular)
- Navimow X390 (2.5)
- Yarbo Lawn Mower Pro (6.0 max)
If none of those fit budget, drive type, or install constraints:
- Drop to 0.75–0.87 near-misses only if the measured lawn is actually under 1.0.
- Use homepage filters (
?coverage=0.5-1.5/over-1.5) on bestlawnrobots.com. - Do not buy a 0.5-acre card (Dreame A3 AWD 2000, Automower 410 iQ) for a true acre and hope runtime schedules fix capacity — the listing coverage field is the yard-fit gate.
