Sunseeker X5

At $1,399.99 (on sale from $1,999.99), the X5 is an AWD, wire-free RTK + vision mower rated for half an acre and 60% (30°) slopes, with an offset edge blade and up to 100 zones. The catches are the narrow 8.6 in cut and the RTK antenna you have to site. Sunseeker's US page also doesn't publish weight, noise, battery, or ingress rating.

What it is

The Sunseeker X5 is a wire-free, all-wheel-drive robot mower sold by Sunseeker on its official US store, shopsunseekertech.com. Sunseeker calls it “an exclusive online offering” that sits between its smaller X3 Plus and S4 and the larger X7 Gen 2. This listing is the mower-only X5: Shopify product 9946763100477, variant 50356347830589, SKU SKRMX5 (GTIN 00850060195266).

Navigation is what Sunseeker calls AONavi Pro Fusion: RTK-GNSS satellite positioning fused with V-SLAM vision from binocular cameras. Sunseeker says the vision side keeps the mower on its line when tree canopy blocks the satellite view. Obstacle avoidance uses those cameras plus “multi-sensor” detection, and the mower sends an app alert with its location if it stalls.

Setup: No perimeter wire. You place the charging base near Wi-Fi, mount the RTK antenna where it can see the sky, and drive the X5 around the lawn once in the app. Sunseeker says most yards are mapped in 20–25 minutes. Wi-Fi is only needed at the charging base.

In the box (from the official “What’s in the box?” image on the US page): the mower, charging station, RTK base station and holder, a charger for the charging station, a charger for the RTK base station, 4 cable clips, 4 RTK base nails, 8 charging-station nails, 4 expansion bolts, 6 spare blades, a quick start guide, and a manual.

Who it’s for

Owners of lawns up to about half an acre with slopes, trees, front and back zones, or tight borders. That’s how Sunseeker describes the X5’s ideal yard, and it says the X5 is not ideal for lawns over 0.5 acre or for small, simple yards. The 60% (30°) AWD slope rating covers most hilly suburban lots. Pick it over cheaper half-acre mowers if you need AWD, and over the listed sunseeker-x7-gen-2 if half an acre is enough.

Look elsewhere if the lawn is larger than 0.5 acre, if you have no spot with a clear view of the sky for the RTK antenna, or if you want a wide cut or a cutting height above 3.2 in.

Standout details

  • Coverage: “Up to 0.5 acre” on the US page, in the headline specs and in its comparison table.
  • Navigation: RTK-GNSS + V-SLAM (AONavi Pro Fusion), with binocular-camera Vision AI obstacle detection. Mowing follows systematic paths. You can create up to 100 zones, no-go areas, and corridors in the app and edit them later.
  • Slope and drive: 60% (30°) maximum slope, all-wheel drive with off-road tires.
  • Cut: 8.6 in cutting width with a floating cutting disc. Cutting height is 1.6–3.2 in, set in the app according to the setup steps and FAQ. A separate offset micro-blade edge deck cuts as close as 1.2 in to edges.
  • Connectivity and support: App control over Wi-Fi at the base. Sunseeker offers a 2-year warranty, 30-day returns, and U.S.-based support.
  • Not published on the US page: weight, noise, battery capacity, run time, and ingress (IP) rating. They are omitted here rather than taken from non-US or third-party sources.

Page conflicts: The buy box shows a $1,999.99 regular price, but the page’s cost calculator lists the X5 “MSRP” as $2,199. This listing uses the cart price and the product-data compare-at. The studio render on the PDP shows “sunseeker elite” on the lid, while the in-the-box image shows “sunseeker”. Both are Sunseeker’s own images for this product.

Honest verdict

For a sloped half-acre, the X5 is strong value at $1,399.99. You get AWD, a 60% slope rating, wire-free RTK + vision navigation, 100 zones, and an edge blade. Among other half-acre listings, the mova-lidax-ultra-2000 is $200.99 cheaper at $1,199 (16 Oct 2026), but it is rear-wheel drive and rated for 45%. The dreame-a3-awd-2000 climbs 80% with LiDAR and no RTK antenna, but it lists at $1,699.99 (16 Oct 2026; it was $1,899.99). Sunseeker’s own sunseeker-x7-gen-2 adds a quarter acre, a 14 in cut, and a 70% rating for $2,599 (sold out on 16 Oct 2026).

The limits are the 0.5-acre rating, an 8.6 in cut that means long mowing cycles on a full half acre, a 3.2 in maximum height, and a US page that leaves out weight, noise, battery, and IP rating. Buy it if your lawn is a hilly half acre with open sky for the antenna. Otherwise, pick a LiDAR mower for heavy shade, or step up to the X7 Gen 2 for a bigger lawn.
